Under inflation would put pressure on the sidewall. The faster you drive, the more contact and therefore friction it would have the road. Its not designed to withstand that sort of heat build up. That looks like you were driving on the sidewall either from lac of pressure or you were running over the load rating of the tyre compressing the sidewall. The light white ring on the side of the tyre could be the clue.

:o You have a good point. When the tyre man dem put air in the tyre , mi always a wonder if the tyres ago burst. I know i wasn't carrying too much load cause it was me one in it and some  small tools in the back. So that leave the tyre pressure. the tyre says Max load 560kg/ 1235lbs at Max pressure 300Kpa/ 44 PSI Cold. What Psi do you suggest i use? the thing that measure the pressure in the tyre, where do i get it to buy? About how much for it?

Try these:

http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg3.html        -   scroll down to tyre pressure.

i was on the highway Thursday morning (minutes to 7) doing between 190-200km/h when my front left tire blew out. the tire is about 70-80% new.

your on the edge of the speed limit of the tire!!
did you ever run the tire on low tire pressure ?
hell a decent pothole with that tire?
what tire pressure you run ?

Yep especially since the tyre may only last about 10 min at that speed,as that is the time it has to run at that speed in testing.

bless  up O.S.  :o i finally get some of these stuff. 88h 210km/h. that means, 88v or 88w would have been ideal at that time.what do i tell them at the tyre shop? i need a 195-50-15 tyre with speed rating at 88v or88w. since the car so heavy, i'm going to start at 30 psi.  By the way people see with me. Its only 2 years now since i own a car. been driving before though, so that explains my lack of knowledge in tyre pressure and speed ratings. :-[ .

It could have been that you had it a pothole. I always go maxxis because they last. In my opinion all tyres sidewall are vulnerable to blow out, so it is best to ensure the correct pressure is maintained (i.e. check them from time to time). You could also consider buying one of those machine that can test them and put in air in where needed.

The cateyes can cause damage to your Tyre. Had a similar blow on the highway damage looks identical. I was only doing 140kph was wondering how it happened when I took it to the Tyre shop the Tyre man said it was the cat eye he has seen many tyres damaged by them.

WOW... First of, happy that you're alive bro... Give thanks for that... However, I've never heard of cat eyes damaging tyres or causing blow outs.. Remember tyres have speed ratings so if you exceed that rating then unfortunate circumstances will arise. ... Speed Rating.... Your tyre sounds like it was damaged before and the excess speed did the final touch to it... Faulty Tyre... Dry rot or faulty construction is the other possible cause.... Advanced or Heavily damaged Road surfaces/ potholes/ ditches/ trenches... No need to explain these, they're self explanatory....BUT.... Faulty tyres and high speed sounds like what you experienced...

Give Thanks for life bro and Keep racing on the tracks!  [nod]

i was on the highway Thursday morning (minutes to 7) doing between 190-200km/h when my front left tire blew out. the tire is about 70-80% new. its the maxxis, not sure the exact type at this time. i heard when the tire blew out. After getting the car under control and stopped, i changed it and notice smoke coming out of the hole. the hole is about the size of the length and width of my middle finger and index finger together. the hole is about inch and a half from the top inside of the tire. Someone is saying the cat eye could have caused that. whats  your thoughts on this?

very very lucky at that speed; almost unbelieveable [ponder]. as for the cat eye, yes. if the unit is missing the reflector or is damaged it is quite possible for it to cut your tyre with chances greater depending on many other factors including the strength of tire, inflation etc. again, u one lucky lucky bredda **buy some lotto ticket**  [lg_thumbsup]
