WEll what could have gone down in history was spoiled by the unfortunate incident. This unfortunate incident possible cause the demise of what could have gone down in history as the race could well have been the best of the day beating the fist two fraces that had spectators on their feet. The second race saw, Doug who was in a race incident, fell behind but the Hollywood star went through the field and came third behind Gregg and Sunmmerbell Jr. He was closing on the leaders but chances are they were not pushing David know he could not catch Gregg and Gregg so fat ahead did not need to push.

Race Day Report from an ardent supporter of the proposed NA Civic Series .... Team Scott Racing ... [thumbsup]

Quote from: Team Scott Racing
CMRC held at jamwest May 20-21 2017 Race Report
The day started of early for us as we went out and warm up the car in the warm up session.
We decided to enter the first MP1 race and on the 3rd lap battling with Charles Chen the car spun out in corner one as the gear wud not select. We ended that race in second place. Car came into the pits and crew chief Raymar Scott began his checks and found out what had caused the car to not take the gear, the slave cylinder for the clutch was moving. He rectified that issue and sent Ricardo 'ScottSpeed' Scott on his way for the B29 race.
Race 1 for B29-We started at the back of the pack since we did not qualify the day before. Again ScottSpeed and Chen had another heated battle that lasted the entire race from the drop of the flag to the chequered flag. This time we finished 1st ahead of Chen.
Race 2 for B29 began with ScottSpeed on pole and Chen in second, on lap 3 ScottSpeed under pressure went into corner 1 and once again spin due to late braking and gravel on track. Thanks to the marshalls for getting him back on track and ending that race in 2nd place behind Chen.
Race 3 for B29 saw another heated battle with both competitors however the car developed an issue and as such we were unable to keep up with Chen for the entire race, however, we finished the race in 2nd place(unofficially). When the car came into the pit ScottSpeed pointed out the issue to His crew chief that the shifter rod was broken and could not select some gears.
Over all we are very pleased with our performance and we now look to the next event on the calendar, independence of speed at dover in August. Thanks to our fans, well wishers, friends, families and our sponsors as with out them this would not b possible.

Well we have had the first CMRC meet for 2017 at Jamwest in Jamaica. So far the organizers do not think it is important to publish the results so we are in the dark. I do believe that Jamaica is in the lead despite the last race that was cancelled. If it was I did not see it on this forum that is widely read by Jmacans and for that matter the Caribbean people.

Our attention must now be turned to Trinidad for the second CMRC event, then Barbados and finally Guyana in November.

Come this weekend Dover will be overflowing with spectators all there to witness the show down between the Jamaican stars. Will young Kyle Gregg up set the King of all Caribbean Kings Jamaica's " David Summerbell Jr.
While David is my idol to not consider the young blood Kyle would be a mistake. The meet to prove the top dog is close by DO NOT MISS THIS MEET. If you have to get to Dover by an helicopter do so.While these two Caribbean tigers will be clawing at each other Doug will be watching on with a glass in hand saying to him self thank god I am not out there.

While this may be so lets not forget that Barbados star the great Mark Maloney among other fabulous Caribbeans will be pressuring hunting for country points as they move to Guyana in November commiong

To miss this meet would be a mistake hence me with my damaged foot will be there if I have to crawl.

We should b going to the alignment stand later today then to Jamwest for testing tmrw. Heroes of Speed at Dover Raceway is one not to miss as we have been receiving some threats from a K series EK Civic and F series EF civic .... we just want them to know we ain't no walk over so watch out this meet is ours. Demar Lee - Making a name in Motorsports

This week, Automotives highlights Demar Lee, another youngster making a name for himself in Jamaican motorsports. The 17-year-old was introduced to racing by his uncle. However, he actually learned to drive from his father and grandmother at age six. Lee, who professes that he has always liked driving, started officially racing at 16 years old. So far, he has mainly taken part in the popular Dover events in St Ann, racing in a 1992 Honda Civic, which he is happy to race in for right now.

"I've been getting better and better each week, getting used to the car and doing better times, so I'm going to practice more to see if I can get even better times," Lee shared as he was on his way to practice for a Dover racing event. The young driver typically races in the IP3 class at these events.

Despite working hard to improve his racing, Lee revealed that he isn't currently supported by a sponsor: "I'm not really working with a team right now, but I am looking for sponsors. I mainly work with my mechanic." This, naturally, causes some challenges in maintaining his vehicle. However, his family is there to support him. "They're my main support system," he said. Thus, the young man's advice to anyone his age attempting to enter racing officially would be to find a solid support system for assistance.

Of course, having a genuine love for racing will bear fruit if you remain persistent despite the challenges. "It's fun. I take it as fun," Lee stated. "I'm planning on doing it for a long time, and I'm looking at schools overseas where I can go to get better at it." However, for now, the recent CSEC student of Dinthill Technical High School is looking to attend driving school in Kingston.

Even after driving professionally for only one year, Lee has made progress, which he is proud of. When asked what he has been most proud of, the young driver said: "Basically ... winning the races and doing faster times."

His most recent event was Dover's Hero's of Speed in October. His fastest time so far has been 1:29.6, which he did in qualifying at Dover's Independence of Speed in August. He recalled that that particular event was a challenging one.

"In the first race, I got slapped by another car, so I didn't get to finish the race. But in the second, race, I started from the back and came up to get second and in the last race, I came first." Evident by this performance in August, Lee tries to remain focused even when he is faced with unfortunate incidents on the track. "When it happens, I feel a little frustrated but I just set my mind to get ready for the other race and do better," he said.

Lee is moving forward with that mindset as he plans to continue racing while pursuing a course in electrical engineering. He intends to take both endeavours overseas as he has his eyes set on schools and racing companies abroad.

The other RAE
by RORY DALEY - Jamaica Observer

While veteran racer Peter Rae contemplates retirement, the other Rae in motorsport, his nephew Sebastian, was on the verge of leaving the sport as well until sponsor IMCA Jamaica, via their Mobil 1 oil brand, stepped in to ensure that the Rae name doesn't disappear from the local leaderboards just yet.

“I have to thank IMCA because we were about to quit as the racing had gotten too expensive for my pockets. The car was up for sale and I was ready to stop until they came on board for the Heroes of Speed meet,” Rae told the Jamaica Observer's Auto magazine.

The 12-month sponsorship deal has extended Rae's racing career, which began around age 13, for another year at least. With Peter Rae as his uncle, Sebastian has followed a similar path bolstered by plenty of familial support.

“Uncle Rae has been a major inspiration to me,” he said.

Having started on bikes at age four, he moved to four wheels by age 13, carving out a notable karting career of which the highlight was winning at the Red Bull Smokin Streets event in 2006. Uncle Peter's influence continued as at age 17, Sebastian was handed his uncle's former single-seat racer. Success continued and Sebastian was hooked on circuit racing.

“I had to get my own car, so I did — a Mitsubishi MIVEC.”

By 2012 he was Jamaica's Circuit racing champion and had won the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship's Group 2 class. Like many drivers he went through a stable of machinery, including a second Mitsubishi Colt RS MIVEC, the infamous Magnum, all the way up to his current Honda Civic, which clinched him the 2018 Improved Production class three championship.

“Racing is my drug. I don't drink. I don't party. It's just racing.”

Sebastian isn't sure what 2019 will bring motorsport-wise, but he's sure to continue the Rae tradition like his much-heralded Uncle Rae.
