Tracking Device OR Car Alarm
« on: December 3, 2016, 06:40:52 AM »
When a person makes an investment in a motor vehicle, there are a number of things to consider. However, security is very high on the list of most individuals. If a choice were to be made between a Clifford/Viper/Prestige alarm systems and Eagle Eye Tracking Devices (although some people have both), what would it be? I ask this question because the benefits of both types of systems are good but if one has to choose ONE, what would it be--alarm or tracking? Additionally, you have the people peeping through your windows more now than any other time of the year because they seemed to have left something that DONT belong to them inside your vehicle  >:(

Plus you have to weight the costs involved--continuous payment with the tracking or one time installation with the alarm [ponder]

Clifford > all.

I've heard a police report that stated that there's been almost 10 cars stolen in Hughenden over the past two weeks - most of which had trackers.

Trackers may make you sleep better at nights but you still need to go back for the remains quickly after it gets stolen.

In my opinion it kinda puts you between a rock and a hard place.......tief can disable a car alarm if it's not one of those with a remote battery system and  then on the other hand, most persons will put the tracker in the same place in the vehicle so it's not a brainstorm to figure out where it's hidden. If you can 'think outside the box' and place the tracker in a different place.....you are better off.....I guess.

Buy GSM tracker on ebay then buy a sim card and add credit, only payment other than credit. One txt cost $3, I have 2 of them, one in my car and one in my tool box I might sell it. Don't put it under the dash, pt it somewhere secure that will be the last place they scrap. The only problem I have with mine is the crappy Chinese battery and forgetting to add credit.

I eventually bought an alarm: Excalibur AL 560 and had professionally installed. Very good system. But to each his own and tracking will suit some and it will not for others.
